Taking The Cure

This piece, titled “Taking the Cure”, was painted on the wall of the “Winter Gardens” in Blackpool, UK in 2013. This piece has been altered from its original state on said wall. The title, “Taking the Cure”, is a reference to the Victorian pastime of the bathing in the sea for healing and medicinal purposes, which BlackPool was once known for. However, the owners of the building believed the message was referring to recreational drug use, and they ordered for it to be changed or the painting would be buffed over. The artist, Id-iom, changed the message on the wall to read “A Little Bird Told Me”, but  they continue to use the original title in their pieces for sale.
