This painting, titled “Jealousy”, was originally painted on the wall of an abandoned building in 2010. This painting depicts a smiling man with a fresh bullet wound (a “fresh wound”) in the center of his forehead. Id-iom’s direction for this piece portrays the figure as one who holds an almost hypnotic look in his eyes. Signifying a man who’s oblivious to the apparent act of jealousy-inspired violence committed against him.  Id-iom, a painting duo from the Isle of Man, are known for their immaculate, yet slightly off-kilter pieces. Each piece is created with a tinge of social skepticism and wry humor. See more of Id-iom’s work in our gallery.
